TARABA FACE OF HOPE IN 2023

Effective Leadership Qualities Of AGBU KEFAS
By: Wunubo Mikky Gani
Becoming a great leader is something everyone wants, but it can be very difficult if you lack the right skills and ideas. This piece focuses on effective leadership qualities and skills that you should focus on developing if you want to become a great leader. These ideas are inspired by Agbu Kefas, a widely known philanthropist and politician with a true focus on leadership and discipline.

There are many things to learn from him, and here are some of the main leadership qualities you should focus on!

1. Having a vision
As a leader, your focus is to establish a vision and stick to it. Having the right vision can really make a difference, and it will inspire your team to rally around you. The lack of any vision is problematic and it’s certainly something to think about in a situation like this. Just see what Agbu Kefas had to say, he has a vision to and that is something he is very passionate about. He will bring it to fruition because he has the leadership knowledge and expertise to make that happen.

2. Inspiring others
You always want to inspire others and offer them the ideas that they need to achieve success. It’s not easy to be a leader, and it’s even more challenging to inspire others.

But with the right approach, the benefits can be amazing, and that’s what you want to consider here. As you can see there are plenty of people inspired by Agbu kefas’ charisma and determination.

3. Continual improvement
You want to adapt and also improve as much as possible. Learning new things and studying does help, and it will help you achieve success in everything you do.

Agbu Kefas wants to improve Taraba State and help it grow, and he has the potential to do that because he is constantly learning and improving his skills regardless of his age.

4. Patience
Patience is a virtue and it’s also one of the major effective leadership qualities that you want to pursue. It’s definitely a challenge to have patience, but if you manage it right, the potential can be nothing short of incredible.

Agbu Kefas demonstrated a lot of patience while negotiating with political leaders in Niger/Delta and Federal Government during his times as military officer .

5.Responsibility
As a leader, you need to maintain a high level of responsibility. You need to be very professional and also learn when to take the blame when something like that appears. Do that, and you will end up getting a very good result in the end.

Agbu Kefas showed that he was very responsible with every action he took over the years, and now he gets to reap the benefits of that. This is one virtue a lot of his detractors don’t understand.

6.Flexibility
There’s no denying that a leader always needs to have a flexible approach. Not everything will go according to your plans. As a result, being flexible and adapting on the spot can indeed help make the process simpler and easier.

Agbu Kefas stayed flexible with his Plan –even from PDP State Chairman to PDP Gubernatorial Candidate was a classical example of being flexible.

7. Authenticity
Every leader needs to stay true to his values. Having a set of values and sticking to that is very important, and it’s one of those things that truly make a huge difference. Staying authentic is crucial if you want to maintain a very positive approach from a business standpoint and the benefits can be incredible if you stick to that. Agbu Kefas has always stayed authentic to his ideas, and you should always do the same.

9. Critical thinking
Critical thinking is imperative in the business world since you always need to take decisions and stay objective. With the help of critical thinking, you will be able to assess the pros and cons while also conveying a course of action.

There is evidence of critical thinking in Agbu Kefas' approach to issues.

11. Staying true to your word.
A great leader will always stay true to their word. You want to ensure that you stick to what you say because that’s what will make you a trustworthy, powerful leader in the years to come. Agbu Kefas has the chance to become a governor because he always stays true to his words, and that’s what a powerful leader does.

12. Patience and understanding:
Staying patient is very important because it helps you achieve success in everything that you do. It also shows your team that if you stay patient, you won’t take rushed decisions that will affect your future.

Agbu Kefas is not a man that rushes things, instead, he takes calculated steps, and that’s exactly the thing to take into consideration.

The 1994 graduating class of Federal Government College (FGC) Wukari, Taraba State, has donated a modern water facility to the school for the use of both staff and students. This initiative was driven by the rising concerns over poor water supply in the college. The project, brought to fruition through the contributions of the 1994 alumni who have since established themselves in various fields, was officially handed over to the school management on August 24, 2024, by representatives of the class. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Professor Shishi Zhema, the current Vice-Chancellor of Kwararafa University, Wukari and a member of the 1994 class, reflected on their experiences as students at FGC Wukari. "When we were here, water was a significant challenge for us. We had to go to great lengths just to access clean water. That’s why we felt that addressing the water issue is a major priority for FGC and its host community.
